| Description:Added the functionality to send digitally signed notification emails to prove the correctness of the emails. since the osirismd already deals with a server certificate, the same certificate can be used for signing the email using the openssl library. |

| Description:Made possible to do strong authentication using x.509 client certificates. when a client presents a valid client certificate (with a path to a trusted ca) during the ssl handshake, the subject dn is checked against the user database. if a user with the dn exists (with whatever password), access is granted. |
